Biography
Laura Jean Shannon is a costume designer whose early credits include the independent films Requiem for a Dream (2000), directed by Darren Aronofsky, The Safety of Objects (2001) and Made (2001).
She has designed costumes for a range of studio films including Elf (2003), Iron Man (2008), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), The Jungle Book (2016) and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017). Her work on Elf and Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005) was included in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences exhibition “50 Designers/50 Costumes: Concept to Character”.
Shannon has specialised in superhero and creature costumes for television series such as Titans, Doom Patrol and The Boys (from 2019), on which she has also served as associate producer. She received a Costume Designers Guild Award nomination for excellence in contemporary film design for Iron Man.
