Biography
Leland Jones Orser (born 6 August 1960) is an American actor. He was born in San Francisco, California, graduated from Connecticut College in 1982 and studied acting at Drama Studio London. He began his career as a stage actor and received a Helen Hayes Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Secret Rapture (1991).
Orser made his television debut in 1991 and has appeared in numerous film and television roles. He is known for playing Dr Lucien Dubenko on the series ER (2004–09), Sam Gilroy in the Taken film trilogy (2008–14), and Bernie Teitel in The Good German (2006). Other film credits include Se7en (1995), Independence Day (1996), Alien Resurrection (1997), Saving Private Ryan (1998), Pearl Harbor (2001) and Daredevil (2003). He has also directed and written the film Morning (2010).
Orser married actress Jeanne Tripplehorn in 2000; they have one son. He was previously married to actress Roma Downey from 1987 to 1989.
