Biography
Liam Carney is an Irish actor. Born in Dublin in 1960 to parents from County Mayo, he began his career with the Laughing Gravy Theatre Company before gaining prominence playing Kevin Haughey in the soap opera Glenroe (1992–1995).
His film credits include The Commitments (1991) as Duffy, Braveheart (1995) as Sean, Angela's Ashes (1999) as Uncle Pa Keating, Gangs of New York (2002) and Calm with Horses (2019) as Fannigan. Television roles include Alec "Old Alec" McMahon MacKenzie in Outlander (2014–2015), Tommy Tyrell in Red Rock (2015–) and Damon in The Virtues (2019).
