Biography
Lisa Fruchtman is an American film and television editor. She graduated from the University of Chicago with an A.B. degree in 1970 and began her career as a film editor in 1973 with the short documentary Ten: The Magic Number. She worked as an assistant editor on The Godfather Part II (1974).
Fruchtman served as one of the editors on Apocalypse Now (1979). She received an Academy Award for Best Film Editing, shared with co-editors, for The Right Stuff (1983). Other credits include Heaven's Gate (1980), Children of a Lesser God (1986), The Godfather Part III (1990), My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) and The Woodsman (2004). With her brother Rob Fruchtman she produced, directed and edited the 2012 documentary Sweet Dreams.
