Biography
Lisy Christl is a German costume designer born in Munich in 1964. She began working in film in 1995 after training as a tailor and gaining experience in theatre costume departments, including at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
She has collaborated with directors including Michael Haneke on Funny Games (1997) and Caché (2005), Roland Emmerich on Anonymous (2011) and White House Down (2013), and Edward Berger on All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) and Conclave (2024). Other credits include Point Break (2015), Independence Day: Resurgence (2016), A Hidden Life (2019) and Balloon (2018).
Christl received a German Film Award for John Rabe (2009) and Academy Award nominations for Anonymous and Conclave.
