Biography
Manuel Billeter is a Swiss-born cinematographer based in New York. He studied film at Freie Universität Berlin and graduated from the New York Film Academy's filmmaking programme in 1997. He has taught at the New York Film Academy.
His television credits as director of photography include episodes of Law & Order (2009–2010), Person of Interest (2012–2014), Orange Is the New Black (2015), Jessica Jones (2015–2019), Luke Cage (2016), Iron Fist (2017), The Punisher (2017), Ozark (2020), The Affair (2019), Inventing Anna (2022), FBI: Most Wanted (2020) and The Gilded Age (2022–2025). He made his feature debut as director of photography on Cat Person (2023).
Billeter is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers, which he joined in 2024, and of the Swiss Society of Cinematographers.
