Biography
Martin Bregman was an American film producer and personal manager. Born in New York City in 1926, he began his career in entertainment as a nightclub agent and insurance salesman before becoming a talent manager. He represented performers including Al Pacino, whom he discovered in an Off-Broadway play, as well as Barbra Streisand, Woody Allen and Alan Alda.
Bregman moved into film production in 1973 with Serpico, directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Pacino. He went on to produce further collaborations with Pacino, including Dog Day Afternoon (1975), Scarface (1983), Sea of Love (1989) and Carlito's Way (1993). Other credits include The Four Seasons (1981), Betsy's Wedding (1990), The Bone Collector (1999) and The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002). He also produced work with Alda and died in New York City in 2018.
