Biography
Martin Scali is a filmmaker and director who has worked extensively as a second unit director. He has collaborated with Wes Anderson since 2007, serving in that capacity on The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), The French Dispatch (2021), Asteroid City (2023), The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (2023) and The Phoenician Scheme (2025).
Scali grew up in Barcelona and studied political science in Paris and cinema in New York. He has directed the short film Canyon (2020), which screened at Clermont-Ferrand and won the Silver Méliès at Strasbourg, as well as music videos and the official Paris 2024 Olympic Games campaign. His first on-screen role was as Georges in Bertrand Bonello’s The Beast (2023).
