Biography
Matt Olmstead is an American television writer and producer. He graduated from California State University, Chico in 1988 and began his career in Hollywood after an agent arranged a meeting with Steven Bochco, who offered him the opportunity to write for the series NYPD Blue.
Olmstead wrote multiple episodes of NYPD Blue and later served as a producer and executive producer on the show. He has contributed to series including Prison Break (2005), where he worked as a writer and executive producer, and co-created Chicago P.D. (2014), Chicago Med (2015) and Law & Order: Organized Crime (2021). He is married to producer Dawn Olmstead.
