Biography
Matthew Fogel is an American screenwriter, also credited as Matt Fogel. He earned a bachelor's degree in English from Yale University and later a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia University.
Fogel wrote the screenplay for the animated films The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026). His other credits include the story for The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019) and the screenplay and story for Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022). Earlier work includes the screenplay and story for Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son (2011). He has also composed music and produced projects such as the short film The Wire: The Musical (2012).
