Biography
Michael Andrews is an American composer, musician and producer. Born in San Diego, California, he is also credited as Elgin Park and Mike Andrews. He began his career as a member of the band The Origin before joining the Greyboy Allstars, with whom he contributed to the score for the 1998 film Zero Effect and the television series Freaks and Geeks (1999–2000).
Andrews composed the score for Donnie Darko (2001), which included his cover of "Mad World" (with Gary Jules) that reached number one in the UK. He has since scored numerous films, including Bridesmaids (2011), Bad Teacher (2011), Neighbors (2014) and Instant Family (2018), as well as television series such as Friends from College (2019) and Platonic (2023–).
His work spans independent features, studio comedies and animated projects. Andrews has also released solo albums under his own name.
