Biography
Michael Russell is a television writer and producer. He read English at Oxford before spending three years working in farming in North Devon. He joined Yorkshire Television as a script editor on Emmerdale Farm, rising to series producer, and later worked in the drama department as script consultant and producer.
He left ITV to write full-time. His television writing credits include episodes of Between the Lines (1992), Heartbeat (1993–1994), A Touch of Frost (1995–2010, including the final episode), Midsomer Murders (2002–2009) and Foyle's War (2003). He has received one award for his work.
