Biography

Michael White was a British production designer and art director. Born on 12 November 1962 in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, he grew up in La Jolla, California. He earned a bachelor of fine arts in painting and printmaking from San Diego State University and a master of fine arts in photography from the University of New Mexico.

White worked extensively in music videos and commercials before moving into feature films. His production design credits include Kalifornia (1993), Crimson Tide (1995), The Rock (1996), The Jackal (1997) and Armageddon (1998). He also served as production designer on Inspector Gadget (1999), which was dedicated to his memory. White died on 19 January 1999 in Los Angeles.
