Biography

Molly Malene Stensgaard is a Danish film editor. Born on 22 January 1966 in Copenhagen, she graduated from the editing programme at the Danish Film School in 1993.

She began her long collaboration with Lars von Trier in 1994, editing episodes of the television series The Kingdom, and has since edited several of his feature films including The Idiots (1998), Dancer in the Dark (2000), Dogville (2003), Manderlay (2005), Melancholia (2011), Nymphomaniac: Vol. I (2013), Nymphomaniac: Vol. II (2013) and The House That Jack Built (2018). She has also edited Land of Mine (2015) and other Danish features, and served as a feature film consultant at the Danish Film Institute from 2006 to 2010. In 2015 she received the Bodil Prize.
