Biography
Neil Affleck is a Canadian animator, director and actor. Born in Montreal in 1953, he is the son of architect Raymond Affleck. He studied at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts school of art and design, where he won the Norman McLaren Award in 1972 for his animated short Hands, and later studied theatre.
Affleck began his career as an actor, appearing in films including Oh! Heavenly Dog (1980), My Bloody Valentine (1981) as Axel, Scanners (1981) and Visiting Hours (1982). He later moved into animation, working as a timer, storyboard artist and director on series such as The Simpsons (directing seven episodes from 1997 to 2000), Family Guy, Rocko's Modern Life and The Critic. He has also directed episodes of Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends and Mike the Knight.
