Biography

Omid Djalili is a British actor and stand-up comedian of Iranian descent. Born on 30 September 1965 in London, he studied English and theatre studies at Ulster University after being rejected by drama schools.

He began his comedy career with shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1995. Djalili has appeared in films including Gladiator (2000), The Mummy (1999), Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007) and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018), as well as television series such as His Dark Materials (2019) and The Change (2023), in which he played Steve.
