Biography

Pavel Lychnikoff, also credited as Pasha D. Lychnikoff, is a Russian-American actor who works in television, film and theatre. Born in Moscow on 16 February 1967, he trained at the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) and appeared in Moscow stage productions including adaptations of Gogol’s The Inspector General and Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment.

He moved to the United States in the early 1990s and settled in Los Angeles. Lychnikoff is known for his recurring role as telegraph operator Blazanov in the HBO series Deadwood (2005–2006), as Dimitri in The Big Bang Theory, and for film appearances including the Russian Soldier in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), a role in Trade (2007) and a part in A Good Day to Die Hard (2013). He has also performed on stage in both Russia and the United States, and wrote and directed the play The Shelter, which received five Ovation Award nominations.
