Biography

Paul Robert Coyle is a television writer and producer. He wrote the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Whispers" (1994) and five episodes of Xena: Warrior Princess between 1996 and 2001. He also contributed to Star Trek: Voyager and wrote extensively for Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, where he served as co-producer and wrote numerous episodes from 1997 to 1999.

Coyle began his career writing for series such as CHiPs, Barnaby Jones, Jake and the Fatman and Crazy Like a Fox. He later worked on Superboy, Space Precinct and The Dead Zone. In 2021 he published the memoir Swords, Starships and Superheroes, recounting his experiences across detective procedurals and genre television. A fictionalised version of Coyle was portrayed by Michael Hurst in two episodes of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.
