Biography
Pembroke J. Herring (also credited as Pembroke Herring or Pem Herring) was an American film editor. Born on 15 April 1930, he worked in the industry from the mid-1960s until 1996 and received three Academy Award nominations for Best Film Editing.
He edited numerous films directed by Sidney Poitier, including Buck and the Preacher (1972), Uptown Saturday Night (1974) and Ghost Dad (1990). His other credits include Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970), National Lampoon's Vacation (1983), Out of Africa (1985), Groundhog Day (1993) and Multiplicity (1996). His son, Craig Herring, is also a film editor.
