Biography
Phil Reeves is an American actor and screenwriter. He was born on 12 January 1953 in New York City. He earned a BA in philosophy and English from Earlham College and an MFA from the Dallas Theater Center.
Reeves has appeared in several films directed by Alexander Payne, including as Walt Hendricks in Election (1999), a minister in About Schmidt (2002), and a vacationing doctor in Sideways (2004). Other film roles include Wayne Rink in 13 Going on 30 (2004) and a car dealer in Fun with Dick and Jane (2005). On television he has played Andrew Doyle in Veep (2012–2019), John Kelly in Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013–), and Phil Maguire in The Office (2005–).
He has also written screenplays, including for the film Happy, Texas (1999), and has a background in regional theatre and a Broadway tour of Children of a Lesser God.
