Biography
Piotr Szkopiak is a British director, editor and writer. Born in London in 1966 to Polish parents, he began working in television without formal training, starting as an intern at MTV Europe in 1989 before joining Sky TV.
He made his feature debut with Small Time Obsession (2000), which he also wrote, edited and produced. His second feature, The Last Witness (2018), which he co-wrote and directed, received a wide theatrical release in Poland and releases in the UK and US. Szkopiak has directed extensively for British television, including episodes of Casualty (1986), EastEnders (1985), Doctors (2000), Shakespeare & Hathaway – Private Investigators (2018), The Coroner (2015) and 139 episodes of Emmerdale (1972). His work has received two BAFTA Television Award nominations.
