Biography
Rachel Axler is an American television writer and playwright. She was born in Queens, New York, on 15 June 1978. She graduated from Hunter College High School in 1995 and Williams College in 1999, and received an MFA from the University of California, San Diego.
Her television writing credits include episodes of The Daily Show (2005–2008), Parks and Recreation (2009), Bored to Death (2011), Veep (2012–2019), and Somebody Somewhere (2022–2023). As a playwright, her works include the plays Smudge and Archaeology.
Axler has won four Primetime Emmy Awards: two for her writing on The Daily Show (2006 and 2009) and two for Outstanding Comedy Series as supervising producer on Veep (2016 and 2017).
