Biography
Donick Cary is an American television writer and producer. He began his career writing for Late Night with David Letterman and continued with the show after its move to CBS, where he served as head writer and appeared as the 'guy in the bear suit'.
Cary joined the writing staff of The Simpsons, serving as co-executive producer for seasons seven through eleven and contributing to episodes including 'In Marge We Trust' (1997), 'Bart Star' (1997) and 'D'oh-in' in the Wind' (1998). He received a Primetime Emmy Award for his work on the series.
He has held similar producer and writer roles on series including Just Shoot Me!, Parks and Recreation (in which he also appeared as a character), Bored to Death, New Girl, Silicon Valley and A.P. Bio. Cary created the animated series Lil' Bush and directed the 2020 documentary Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics. He is the son of actors Richard and Mara Cary.
