Biography

Ralph Eggleston (1965–2022) was an American animator, art director, storyboard artist and production designer, primarily known for his work at Pixar Animation Studios. He served as production designer on Finding Nemo (2003) and WALL·E (2008), and as art director on Toy Story (1995) and The Incredibles (2004).

Eggleston graduated from the California Institute of the Arts and began his career in animation in the 1980s, working as an animator on films including Aladdin (1992), The Lion King (1994) and Pocahontas (1995). He joined Pixar in 1992 and later wrote and directed the short film For the Birds (2000), which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
