Biography
Randy Roberts (1945–2014) was an American film editor, producer and director. Born in Los Angeles, California, he began his career as an assistant editor in the 1970s before becoming an editor on films such as Jaws 3-D (1983) and television series including L.A. Law and Chicago Hope.
He directed episodes of several series, including Miami Vice (1988), Tour of Duty (1987–1989), Quantum Leap (1989), L.A. Law (1993–1994), Chicago Hope (1996) and Early Edition (1999). Roberts also worked as a producer on Early Edition and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He served as president of the American Cinema Editors and received an Emmy nomination for editing.
Roberts was married to Claude Rush. He was the son of Jack G. Roberts and nephew of editor Sam O'Steen.
