Biography
Ray Jenkins (1935–2023) was a British television, radio and film writer. He contributed scripts to numerous police and crime drama series from the 1960s to the 1980s, including Public Eye, Z Cars, Callan, The Sweeney, Special Branch, Juliet Bravo and The Gentle Touch.
He adapted Wilkie Collins’s The Woman in White for BBC Television in 1982 and Tom Hart’s novel Aura and the Kingfisher as the feature film The Innocent (1985). Jenkins also wrote educational drama scripts and served as chair of the Writers’ Guild Television Committee in the early 1970s.
