Biography
Peter Hill is a British television writer and former detective inspector in the Metropolitan Police. He served for thirteen years, including time at New Scotland Yard in the Company Fraud Department and the Murder Squad, before leaving the force at the age of thirty-two to pursue writing.
Hill wrote episodes for series including The Sweeney (1976), Public Eye (1971), Callan (1972), Special Branch (1970–1974), Z Cars, Crown Court, New Scotland Yard and Armchair Theatre. He also worked as a script editor and producer in the UK and New Zealand, where he later lived. Under his own name he published six police thriller novels; as John Eyers he wrote the Survivors tie-in novel Genesis of a Hero (1977) and a Special Branch spin-off.
