Biography

Roger Marshall was an English television screenwriter. Born on 15 March 1934 in Leicester, he was educated at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. He began his writing career in the late 1950s and contributed scripts to numerous series over several decades.

Marshall co-created the long-running crime series Public Eye (1965–1975) with Anthony Marriott and wrote many of its episodes. He also wrote 15 episodes of The Avengers (1962–1967) and eight episodes of The Sweeney (1975–1978). Other credits include episodes of The Professionals, Lovejoy, The Gentle Touch and Survivors.

He created the series Travelling Man (1984–1985) and Floodtide (1987–1988), and co-created Mitch (1984). Marshall died on 1 April 2020.
