Biography
Reginald Hudlin is an American director, producer and writer. Born on 15 December 1961 in Centreville, Illinois, he graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1983, where his student short film formed the basis for his feature debut.
Hudlin directed House Party (1990) and Boomerang (1992). He produced Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained (2012), which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. His later directing credits include the feature Marshall (2017) and episodes of television series such as The Office, Modern Family and Everybody Hates Chris. He served as President of Entertainment for BET from 2005 to 2008 and has written for Marvel Comics, including runs on Black Panther.
Hudlin’s brother Warrington Hudlin is also a filmmaker; the pair are known as the Hudlin Brothers.
