Biography
Rob Wright is an American television writer and producer. Born in New York City and raised in Los Angeles, he is the son of Sesame Street producer Norton Wright and Broadway actress Susan Watson. His uncle is Tom Jones, author of the musical The Fantasticks. He attended the Harvard School, Yale University (BA) and USC School of Cinema/Television (MFA), where he received the Nicholson Award for screenwriting.
Wright began his career in the late 1990s as a story editor on The Magnificent Seven (1998). His writing credits include episodes of Law & Order (2002), Walker, Texas Ranger (1999–2001), Charmed (2004–2006), Las Vegas (2007–2008), Drop Dead Diva (2011–2012), Grimm (2013–2014), Ash vs Evil Dead (2015), The Librarians (2016–2017), Lethal Weapon (2017–2018), Supergirl (2018–2021) and La Brea (2022–2024). He co-created the Fox series The Mob Doctor (2012–2013).
Wright served as co-executive producer on Grimm and executive producer and co-showrunner on the final three seasons of Supergirl, for which he also wrote thirteen episodes. He has worked as a producer on several other series including Lethal Weapon and La Brea.
