Biography
Robert Lord (1 May 1900 – 5 April 1976) was an American screenwriter and film producer. He wrote for more than seventy films between 1925 and 1940, often for Warner Bros., and later produced films for Humphrey Bogart's Santana Productions.
He received an Academy Award for Best Original Story for One Way Passage (1932) and was nominated in the same category for Black Legion (1937). His credits include story work on Footlight Parade (1933), on which he also served as producer, and producing In a Lonely Place (1950). A Harvard graduate who studied playwriting, Lord began his career contributing stories and adaptations before taking on producing roles.
