Biography
Roger Young (born 13 May 1942) is an American television and film director. He was born in Champaign, Illinois, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Illinois.
Young began his career in local television and advertising before moving to Los Angeles in 1977. He worked as an associate producer on Lou Grant, where he later directed episodes and won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1980 for Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series, along with Directors Guild of America Awards. He directed the pilot of Magnum, P.I. and numerous other pilots, before focusing on television films and miniseries.
His credits include episodes of Rome (2005), The Closer (2005) and Law & Order (1990), as well as miniseries such as Joseph (1995), Jesus (1999), Hercules (2005) and The Red Tent (2014).
