Biography
Sanaa Hamri is a Moroccan-American film, television and music video director. She studied theatre at Sarah Lawrence College, graduating in 1996 after a year in Paris, and began her career as an editor before directing music videos.
Her feature directorial debut was the 2006 romantic comedy Something New. She subsequently directed The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008) and Just Wright (2010). On television she has directed episodes of Glee (2009), Shameless (2011), Rectify (2013), Elementary, Desperate Housewives and others, and served as executive producer and director on Empire (2015–2020).
She has also directed episodes of The Wheel of Time (2021) and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022).
