Biography
Sarah Edwards (also credited as Sara Edwards) was a Welsh-born American actress who appeared in numerous Hollywood films of the 1930s and 1940s, usually in small character roles as dowagers or spinsters.
She began her career on the stage and appeared in six Broadway productions between 1919 and 1931. Edwards made her film debut in the 1929 musical Glorifying the American Girl and moved to Hollywood in the mid-1930s, where she worked until retiring in 1951. Among her credits are The Shop Around the Corner (1940), Shadow of a Doubt (1943), It's a Wonderful Life (1946) as Mrs. Hatch, and The Bishop's Wife (1947) as Mrs. Duffy.
