Biography
Sarah Hellings (born 15 December 1945) is a British television director. She began her career at the BBC as a film editor and later directed documentaries for the children's programme Blue Peter, including episodes of Blue Peter Special Assignment.
She left the BBC to work freelance, directing episodes of series such as Juliet Bravo, Grange Hill and Howards' Way. In 1985 she directed the Doctor Who serial The Mark of the Rani, and she was the last woman to direct an episode of the classic series. Her later credits include multiple episodes of Midsomer Murders (2002–2008), The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes and Lovejoy.
