Biography
Simon Dennis is a British cinematographer. He graduated with a first-class honours degree in film and television studies from Napier Film School in Scotland. He began his career shooting music videos and won a Scottish BAFTA for his work on the short film Sex & Death.
His early feature credits include The Last Great Wilderness (2001) for director David Mackenzie and The Sweeney (2012). He shot episodes of Doctor Who (2005) and Ripper Street before working on Peaky Blinders (2013), for which he received a BAFTA Television Craft Award nomination for photography and lighting.
Dennis has shot features including The Girl with All the Gifts (2016) and The Limehouse Golem (2016), and series such as Ratched (2020), POSE (2018), American Crime Story (2016) and Krypton (2018). He joined the BSC in 2018 and the ASC in 2023.
