Biography
Simon Franglen is an English composer, record producer, arranger and musician. Born in 1963 in Westminster, London, he began his career in recording studios in the late 1980s, working with producer Trevor Horn before moving to Los Angeles as a session musician and producer.
His film credits include work as arranger and producer on Titanic (1997), for which he won a Grammy Award for Record of the Year as producer of "My Heart Will Go On". He served as arranger on the original Avatar (2009), receiving Golden Globe and Grammy nominations for the theme song, and composed the scores for Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025). He also co-composed The Magnificent Seven (2016) with James Horner.
Franglen has additional credits on films including The Magnificent Seven, Peppermint (2018) and Notre-Dame on Fire (2022). He is the brother of musician Nick Franglen and great-nephew of musicologist Hans Keller.
