Biography
Amanda Silver is an American screenwriter and film producer. She was born on 24 May 1963 in New York City and studied history at Yale University before earning an MFA in screenwriting from the University of Southern California.
She has collaborated with her husband Rick Jaffa since 1992. Their credits include the screenplay for Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), story and screenplay for Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025), and producing Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024). They are also known for work on Jurassic World (2015), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and Mulan (2020).
Silver is the granddaughter of screenwriter Sidney Buchman and the sister of actor Michael B. Silver.
