Biography
Rick Jaffa is an American screenwriter and film producer. He has worked in partnership with his wife, Amanda Silver, since 1992.
Jaffa and Silver wrote and produced Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) and co-wrote and produced Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014). They co-wrote Jurassic World (2015), In the Heart of the Sea (2015) and Mulan (2020), and have produced the later Planet of the Apes films War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024).
In 2013 they joined James Cameron’s writers’ room for the Avatar sequels. They share story and screenplay credits on Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025).
