Biography
Steve Starkey is an American film producer and second unit director. He began his career in the editorial department, serving as assistant film editor on The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983).
Starkey has had a long association with director Robert Zemeckis. He worked as associate producer on Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Back to the Future Part II (1989) and Back to the Future Part III (1990). He later produced numerous Zemeckis films, including Death Becomes Her (1992), Forrest Gump (1994), Contact (1997), Cast Away (2000), The Polar Express (2004), Beowulf (2007), A Christmas Carol (2009) and Flight (2012). He also served as second unit director on many of these projects. Starkey shared the Academy Award for Best Picture for Forrest Gump.
