Biography

Ted Hope is an American independent film producer. In 1990 he co-founded the New York-based production and sales company Good Machine with James Schamus. Through Good Machine he produced Ang Lee's early features, including Pushing Hands (1991), The Wedding Banquet (1993) and Eat Drink Man Woman (1994).

Hope later co-founded This Is That Productions. His credits include Happiness (1998), The Ice Storm (1997), American Splendor (2003) and The Savages (2007). He has also held executive roles at the San Francisco Film Society and Amazon Studios.
