Biography
Thomas Bidegain is a French screenwriter, producer and film director. He is known for his frequent collaborations with director Jacques Audiard.
He received the César Award for Best Original Screenplay in 2010 for A Prophet (2009), shared with Audiard and others, and the César for Best Adaptation in 2013 for Rust and Bone (2012) and in 2024 for Emilia Pérez, both also shared with Audiard. His other screenwriting credits include Dheepan (2015), Saint Laurent (2014) and The Sisters Brothers (2018). Bidegain made his directorial debut with The Cowboys (Les Cowboys, 2015), which premiered in the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. He co-created the television series Machine, which won the main prize at the 2024 Series Mania French Competition.
