Biography
Victoria Mahoney is an American director and former actress. Born and raised in New York, she began her career with acting roles in the 1990s, including appearances in Seinfeld and Legally Blonde.
She made her feature directorial debut with the semi-autobiographical Yelling to the Sky (2011), which she also wrote and produced. The film premiered in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival. Mahoney developed the project through Sundance Institute labs and received several fellowships, including as an Auerbach Screenwriting Fellow and Tribeca Film Fellow.
Her television directing credits include episodes of Queen Sugar (2016), Grey's Anatomy (2016 and 2024), You (2018), Seven Seconds (2018), Lovecraft Country (2020) and The Morning Show (2021). She served as second unit director on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), the first woman to direct on a Star Wars film. She is also attached to direct The Old Guard 2 (2025).
