Biography

Virginia Katz, also credited as Ginny Katz, is an American film editor. She edited Bill Condon’s Gods and Monsters (1998) and has maintained a long collaboration with the director on subsequent features including Kinsey (2004), Dreamgirls (2006), Mr. Holmes (2015), and Beauty and the Beast (2017).

Her other editing credits include Burlesque (2010), the two Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn films (2011–2012), The Fifth Estate (2013), and The Good Liar (2019). On television she has worked on the series Alias and Felicity. Katz won an American Cinema Editors Eddie Award for Dreamgirls and received an Eddie nomination for Kinsey; she also won an OFTA Film Award for her work on Alias.

Born and raised in New Rochelle, New York, Katz began her career assisting her father, editor Sid Katz, before working in London and later relocating to Los Angeles.
