Biography
Will Wright, also credited as William Henry Wright or William H. Wright, was an American character actor. Born in San Francisco, California, he began his career in vaudeville before moving to the stage, radio and film. He appeared in more than 200 film and television roles, often in westerns and as curmudgeonly figures.
Wright provided the voice of Friend Owl in the Disney animated film Bambi (1942). Among his other film credits are Saboteur (1942), River of No Return (1954), Johnny Guitar (1954), Niagara (1953), Inherit the Wind (1960) and Cape Fear (1962). He also had a recurring role as Ben Weaver on The Andy Griffith Show. Wright died in Los Angeles in 1962.
