Biography
Xavier Pérez Grobet, also credited as Xavier Grobet, is a Mexican cinematographer and member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) and the Mexican Society of Cinematographers (AMC). Born in Mexico City on 12 October 1964, he trained at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica there and began his career as a camera assistant on Hollywood productions filmed in Mexico, including Total Recall (1990).
He relocated to Los Angeles and has worked on feature films such as Before Night Falls (2000), Nacho Libre (2006), Focus (2015) and Monster House (2006). On television he has collaborated repeatedly with director Mike White, serving as director of photography on both seasons of Enlightened (2011–2013), Brad's Status (2017) and season two of The White Lotus (2022). He received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for his work on selected episodes of Watchmen (2019).
