Biography
Yohei Taneda is a Japanese production designer. Born in 1960 in Osaka, he studied fine arts at Musashino Art University and began his film career as an assistant to artist Sawako Goda on the 1981 French-Japanese film Fruits of Passion.
Taneda’s credits include production design on Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003), Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) and The Hateful Eight (2015). His other work encompasses Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004), When Marnie Was There (2014), The Flowers of War (2011) and Earthquake Bird (2019). He has also designed for stage, exhibitions and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics opening and closing ceremonies.
