Uma Thurman is an American actress. She was born on 29 April 1970 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Thurman made her film debut in Kiss Daddy Goodnight (1987). Her breakthrough came with Dangerous Liaisons (1988). She gained international recognition for her role as Mia Wallace in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction (1994), earning Academy Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress.

She reunited with Tarantino to play the lead in Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) as The Bride / Beatrix Kiddo, receiving further Golden Globe nominations. Other films include Gattaca (1997), Batman & Robin (1997) and The House That Jack Built (2018). She won a Golden Globe for the television film Hysterical Blindness (2002) and made her Broadway debut in The Parisian Woman (2017–2018).
