Biography
Yoshiyasu Hamamura was a Japanese film editor and cinematographer. He worked as a director of photography on several films in the mid-1930s before becoming an editor.
He is best known for editing many films directed by Yasujirō Ozu, including Late Spring (1949), Early Summer (1951), The Flavor of Green Tea Over Rice (1952), Tokyo Story (1953), Tokyo Twilight (1957), Equinox Flower (1958), Good Morning (1959), Late Autumn (1960) and An Autumn Afternoon (1962). He also edited Black River (1957) and later films such as The Shadow Within (1970).
