Biography
Al Silvani (1910–1996) was an American actor and boxing trainer. He appeared in numerous films, often in uncredited or minor roles, and worked as a technical adviser and assistant director on boxing-related productions.
He played the cut man in Rocky (1976), credited as Al Salvani, and reprised similar roles in Rocky II (1979) and Rocky III (1982). Other credits include From Here to Eternity (1953), Ocean's Eleven (1960), Somebody Up There Likes Me (1956), Every Which Way but Loose (1978) and Stir Crazy (1980). Silvani trained more than twenty world champion boxers and was a friend of Frank Sinatra, appearing in several of the singer's films.
